go to a homeowners store, such as Lowes or Home Depot and get some weatherstripping. This comes in rolls in various lengths and is about 1/2" wide and has adhesive on the back. Now clean the door jambs with a damp rag, and place a bead of this on all four sides of the door opening. Next, you need some caulk for the windows. Get some acrylic caulk, in tubes, that you can put a bead of caulk around the outside edges of each window, on all four sides. If the glass is loose within the frame, get some glaziers points, which are small metal triangles that you install with a hammer to keep the glass tight within the frames. Next, at the store, get some receptacle insulation. Remove the outlet covers and switch covers on all outside walls and put this foan insulation over the switches and receptacle and then reinstall the plates and outlet covers.
Now look around for openings in the foundation, cracks, missing chunks of concrete, etc. Get a couple of cans of spray foam insulation and fill these areas in. Also, see if there are drafts along the bottoms of exterior doo,f there are get some metal strips which are made to fasten to the doors and seal out drafts. Old homes are notorious for leaks, but with a little time, a few dollars and some labor, you can eliminate half of them. If worse comes to worse, you can cover the outside of your windows with plastic,
